The Company

HD Clinical was formed by the merger of DataCam Ltd and Hilex Ltd in 2005 bringing together the expertise of the two development teams and combining the excellence of the Prism scheduling and integration software with the clinical benefits of the DataCam system. Subsequently Ciconia Ltd, a specialist maternity system supplier, was also acquired extending the range of the specialties covered by the company's products.

The company is based at Thremhall Park, adjacent to Stansted Airport and employs 24 people. HD Clinical now has products installed in over 110 NHS Trusts, Northern Ireland Health Boards and in the Republic of Ireland. The company holds framework contracts with Connecting for Health for the provision of clinical integration products and services and various clinical information systems.

The company is a major innovator in the field of integrated clinical records and clinical audit. Products currently in place cover cardiac medicine and surgery (adult and paediatric), respiratory medicine, thoracic surgery, neurophysiology, vascular investigation and maternity. Extension into all other clinical departments is being released over the coming months.

HD Clinical products are all fully compliant with national data reporting requirements and have been extensively tried and tested in live environments. Typical installations may handle several hundred thousand clinical events each year with reliability that is second to none. Extensive audit and backup capability means that data are safe and secure, more so than when held in paper records.

The HD Clinical products are complementary and represent a steady development process which will continue into the future.
